Parents’ Information Evening
The College in partnership with the Parents’ Association will be hosting an information evening with a focus of keeping our young men alcohol and drug free. The evening will take the format of four brief presentations followed by an open forum and panel discussion based on questions raised from the audience.
The evening is about the school in partnership with parents taking responsibility for the behavior and actions of our boys. This evening will provide all with the opportunity to be honest about our concerns around teenage drinking and hopefully come to a consensus about the messages that we should be sending our boys.
Date: Monday 26 March
Time: 18h00 – 19h15
Venue: Rene England Auditorium
RSVP: By the 23rd of March for catering purposes – Mrs Modise on 011 645-3000 or e-mail modise at stjohnscollege.co.za
We look forward to your participation on the evening.
Yours sincerely
Roger Cameron
Headmaster

Notice regarding haircuts
Many pupils’ haircuts do not conform with school regulations. We have
identified a number of boys and requested them to report for a haircut
on Thursday 21 July and Friday 22 July at 11h00 in the Rene England
Auditorium.
If your son does not comply with this request and return to school on
Monday, without having had his hair cut, he will not be permitted to
write exams.
Any pupil who wishes to join one of these groups to have his hair cut,
is welcome to do so.
Mr C Bossert and Mrs A Nettleton
Meeting with Dietician
Dear Parents of Boarders
You may know that the school recently engaged the services of a firm of
dieticians to conduct an analysis of the food being served to the students
from our kitchen. The intention of the survey was to enable the College to
improve its food offering.
You are warmly invited to a meeting on Sunday 3 April at 17h30 in Jeffrey
Auditorium in order to hear more about what changes the College is planning.
I am sure that you will find the presentation by the dietician very
interesting and informative. We chose this timing as it will enable you to
attend after dropping your son or daughter at boarding.
A similar talk will be given to your sons and daughters early next term.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the meeting. We envisage that it
will last no longer than an hour.
Regards
Dave Campbell

Mr David Hesketh has offered to assist our boys in managing their stress and offers the following course. Your son has seen his presentation and should he be interested, I ask that he completes the attached form and returns it to Mrs Modise by Tuesday 22nd.
