Shave the Head’s Head

In lieu of the CANSA relay, I would like to challenge all Pre-Prep and Prep boys.

I would like the boys to sponsor me in the next three days and if an amount of R10 000 can be collected, I will shave off my hair on Saturday, or I am quite happy for the highest donor to do it.

If every boy donated R20 the amount could easily be achieved. However – hopefully far more money will be donated to this extremly worthy cause.

For the next three days, please could you bring along your donations and give them either to Mrs Jonsson in the Prep or Mrs Kruger in the Pre-Prep.

Thank you so much for your support and I hope to see you all on Saturday.

Kind regards

Patrick Lees
Headmaster

Initiative to improve Communication with College Parents

In an endeavour to improve communication between the College and parents, the School Communicator tool (which is used very effectively in the Prep and Pre-prep) is being relaunched. Please see this letter:

regarding the steps you need to take to use this communication tool easily and effectively. College staff have been briefed on the tool, and will be using it to give you regular, current and useful information on all aspects of College life.

Should you already be using Communicator, please note that we have introduced a new channel – College Academics. Please go to your Personalise tab on Communicator, and tick this new channel to ensure you receive news and information pertaining to the academic programme in the College.

Regards

Upper V Job Shadowing

Dear UV Parents,

The last three days of the term are devoted to the UV Job Shadowing Project. Other than being vital experiential learning and a good check for the boys to see if the courses they anticipate doing at university will take them into a suitable career field, forms one of the UV LO portfolio tasks.

I have asked all boys to bring me written confirmation from the company/companies they intend visiting during their job shadowing. I would appreciate your assistance in seeing that your sons access appropriate work experiences. Should any parents be able to accommodate boys in their own companies I would appreciate it if you could let me know a.s.a.p. Several boys have limited contacts and will need assistance in sourcing suitable firms to visit.

Kind regards
Anne Nettleton
